Fast-growing Nashville insurance agency adds Memphis partner, expands risk management services, deepens team throughout company

FRANKLIN, TN – Insurance Group of America (IGA), a Franklin-based boutique insurance agency with the resources of a national firm, announced a series of critical new additions today to its team, including the expansion to Memphis, as it ascends on a rapid growth track across the state.

IGA has opened an office in Memphis that will be led by new partner, Bo Midgett—a West Tennessee-based insurance executive with nearly two decades of experience.  This is the second expansion in 2019 as IGA opened a Chattanooga office earlier this year.

“We are thrilled to add Bo to IGA and officially open operations in Memphis,” said Jamie Noe, CEO and founder of IGA. “We are committed to growth in Memphis, Nashville, Chattanooga and throughout the state. In just four years, IGA has become one of the largest insurance agencies for Tennessee’s thriving construction industry. This is just the beginning. We are determined to create a new kind of insurance agency that blends deep expertise and strong infrastructure with dynamic leaders, such as Bo, who can maximize results for our clients.”

Before joining IGA, Midgett served as senior vice president at Memphis-based insurance agency, Lipscomb & Pitts, where he spent 15 years. Prior to that, he worked at First Tennessee Bank in the financial planning industry. Midgett serves on the board of directors for Hannah’s Hope, a faith-based, nonprofit that supports children, pregnant women and families though the adoption and beyond. Midgett earned his undergraduate degree from University of Memphis and an MBA at Union University.

Along with its expansion to Memphis and Chattanooga, IGA bolstered its risk management services with the addition of Kelsey Unland. As director of risk management at IGA, Unland leads a team who work with construction, retail, manufacturing, wood product and non-profit organizations to help implement and monitor programs that ensure safe workplaces.

“Kelsey is a tremendous asset to our agency and clients,” continued Noe. “Her risk management expertise is at the highest-level. For many of our clients, a safe workplace is priority number one. With Kelsey’s leadership, IGA provides a comprehensive suite of risk management services, including customized safety programs, audits, accident investigations and safety training.”

Prior to IGA, Unland held several positions, including director of client relations, at Fortier Loss Control Consultants. She is a Specialist in Safety & Health (SSH) for the construction industry, an OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer, and a First Aid/CPR/AED Level 3 Instructor Trainer. Additionally, Unland serves as safety committee chair for the Nashville Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction. A Nashville-native, Unland received her bachelor’s from Middle Tennessee State University and her MBA from Tennessee Technological University.

Additionally, IGA further strengthened its roster by adding Amy Cain and Azia Hurley as account executives.

Prior to joining IGA, Cain was an account executive with Brown & Brown Insurance of Tennessee. Cain brings more than 21 years of experience to IGA and specializes in employee benefits. She earned her bachelor’s from the University of Memphis.

Hurley most recently served as an account manager at the Crichton Group for four years where she led the agency’s small business unit. She also worked as a generalist and brings a strong background in working with real estate, large commercial accounts and social services. She began her insurance career at State Farm, where her specialty was in personal lines, life and health. Hurley earned her bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University.
